Other Handmade Gifts

My daughter adores Fairies. It might be my fault, as I push for her not to like the princess, fairy makes a good replacement. Those are the disney fairies. Even the "evil" one, my daughter's favorite, that never really gets to be displayed on their merch. I love how they turned out and find them really cute. Mariann loves them of course, and she installed them in the felt house I made last autumn.

I made 2 mechanics for Merrick to go with the cars Mariann painted for him.

And this crown was made for the little red-head best friend of Mariann, Zoe. She turned 3 in the middle of the month. I also made her a set of pretend cookies.

And I made this for one of my SIL. Now that she moved to study I thought she could use a sewing kit. I also made an infinity top to the other SIL, but she finds it too thights and the wraps aren't serged so she won't wear it... I made a red infinity dress for myself. I'll try to show you soon.

How to make a last minute, cheap, yet really fun Father's day gift

1Cut letters from a cereal box, paint in tattoo letter style and let dry, At 1am because it's too hot for your pregnant being to fall asleep.

2 Mess with the retardateur option of your canon rebel till you get a centered picture of your belly featuring one of those letters.

3 The next morning, get your toddler in a nice little dress with pretty pigtail in your mom's backyard and try to get some great shots of her holding the
P and the A.

4 Get some help from your mom. Because the toddler doesn't really like the concept of a photoshot that morning.

5 Get to the nearest drugstore and insert your memory card in their express photo boot. Select the 4 best pictures. Crop your mom's face and center them on the spot. Print.

6 Get to the dollar store and buy 4 wooden 6x4 picture frame. Place your pictures inside while you're waiting in the car for your mom picking up cabbage salad at a fast food chain.

7 Frame and wrap in craft paper.
Because the yule papers and the pink flowery paper your mom has doesn't quite fit the theme.

8 Give some crayon to your toddler and place the package in front of her. She won't need further instruction.

9 Make a nice bow with a little "Bonne Fête des Pères" note

10 Wait for the next morning to give it to your BF

Now you have a nice, very custom and personal PAPA sign to display in your nearly empty apart's walls!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THOSE WHO DESERVE IT! :D

Holiday Craftings (part 1)

Did you have a merry little Christmas?

I did. Good food, nice gifts and more importantly, family!

I haven't post much last weeks... Well, I'm in my first trimester, and I'm really tired, all the time! And I crafted, a lot... So now I'm gonna kick my ass a bit and and post all the stuff I did (and Mariann's too!)

painting original art for my FIL

Idea from Bakerella

This was for my divorced uncle that always makes himself simple cookies. I bought him fun shaped cutter and made up a pre-made recipe and included the recipe's list of liquid ingredients and steps. He liked it.

Poptart iPod Cozy for my cousin

BBQ Apron for my FIL (the modeling BF asked his head to be cut off..)

His children and his wife bought him a mini-laptop so he didn't had many gift to open... So I made him a little one. "Chez ce cher Serge" is a running gag because it's kind of difficult to say at first time. Try it, you'll see!

stay tunned, there will be many more stuff to come!

I almost forgot, but I feel the need to enter this week:

Jewelry Holder

My mommy-in-law requested a wooden cabinet that I could paint something on it.
We looked around, found nothing.

So, I came up with this as a "waiting gift" for her, as her cabinet is nowhere to be found! (if you have any idea where I could purchase one on the net, please tell!)

Took a frame and spray paint it white, a 1/4 sheet and some S hooks. It is currently displaying my own collection ... I might make one for me!
