Inspiration: Master bedroom pics

As many decoration website there is, I find really few bedroom image that I actually like.

But it certainly helps define what I like, and what I don't like

Likes: Whites, paler tones, soft fabric, texture, wood, painted wood and overhall calm and country feel

I also found that I truly dislike modern, contemporary, über simple design. I need something welcoming!

It also seems like I don't like bold graphic that much, but I still love flower, stripes and plaid patterns

I am SO country....

image taken on sites like houzz and bhg... I don't remember which goes where, sorry.

Finding inspiration; Master Bedroom

This a a rough floor plan of what need to be put in our master:
-An office Desk
-A Queen Bed
-A Crib
-A rocker
-2 nightstands
-A dresser

The weird lines is because the hgtv.ca floor planner doesn't allow to add walls...

I'm working hard to find inspiration; seems like nothing is reaching me. I love beachy, costal, traditional and shabby chick, but in every pictures there's something i don't like. And most of the time the site are plain anoying...

Any site to suggest me?

About Play Kitchens......

It's what I decided to make for Bébé Tattoo for this year's holiday.
With the play food and everything (that will deserve a post of its own...)

So, officially, this is an Inspiration Post!

I have to mention first, this play kitchen gold mine, Out of the Crayon Box, and her fabulous idea that I'm looking forward to, Build With Me: Cute & Thrifty Play Kitchen -In Just Six Weeks.
I seriously consider the fact that she might have been able to read my mind.

Aren't those gorgeous?
And this girl doesn't just make awesome play kitchen... She sells them and give her benefit to charitative organization. It's my kind of lady. Oh, she does them on budget, too. So go on and check her posts, if you are like me and love steps pictures, including before and afters!

Now, thanks to Kimba's DIY Day, I ran into this lovely play kitchen from Mommy Words.

I more then agree with the post's tittle; Who Needs Pottery Barn?

Why it won my heart?
First, it's RED. Second, it was built from scratch. Third, it cost 150$. and last but very not least, it has running water. How cool is that?

The pottery barn one, around 800$ without shipping fee.

This one comes from Our Sweet life.

She went to the salvage yard and got what she found fitting best. Found a faucet, re-used paint.... Total cost? 59$! Here for all the details.

But here comes one of my favorite, for it's cleverness. Erin, from Sutton Grace took an entertainment center and turn it into this:

She explains it all here. With Before and Afters. That is were I'm heading!
I purchased the unit this afternoon (40$) and I got free stove buttons :) Unit and Sketch will be at the end of the post.

But on to the next inspiration kitchen....

Yellow Play Kitchen from Mamma Americana

She took 2 straight night stands, and she flipped a chest for the fridge. The rest is mdf. She explains it all here.

Blue kitchen from Celebrate Play!

This one has a double sink!
The lady hired some professional to built it, and she did the rest. I love the color! Details here!

Now that you've been loaded with awesomeness, I'll show you the piece of furniture I chose:

See the potential?

...And a rough not to scale sketch...

So please, someone, give me pale blue and sliver spray paint, a drill, wood and some screws.... Can't wait to start!

Halloween Esty Founds

I won't do another pumpkin post
But I'll provide you with charming Halloween stuff.

It's the only reason I can get to enjoy automn, really.
Usually at Halloween here, there is already snow.

Now wonder why I'd like to make something like this for my daughter:

(I would need to add gloves!)

Or like this:

Now the great Halloweeny stuff.
I must confess to you. I am a witch. (Well, in my heart at least!)
I love everything cauldron and potion, skulls, spiders, ghosts, you name it!
I have a collection of Witch's Hat. (My latest addition was the purple felting with yellow bow MINI one. It fitted Bébé Tattoo last year but it definitly won't this year!)

the KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT party

the KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT party

I didn't really have a special inspiration for the baby shoes
But since I have some time to spare:
Here's some "boutique" shoes on etsy:

Those one a delicious and looks comfortable.

prettylittle, 36$

a bit too pricy to me, for the time She could wear those.

This idea is gorgeous. I have a pink pair of flip flop (size 2) And I might just do that.

rockkandy sells them 10$

Now those are not that great looking, but they are to ones that most look-a-like what I did. I really don't like the beading thing, and part from that, they've just change the shoelace for skull ones. Oh yeah, the one at left are converse.
still, hold on to your mouse.
Those are
respectivly $89.99 USD and $44.99 USD at dara43

Now Mine :

More angles and how-to here:

Some new *old* shoes

thanks for looking!

Inspirations post!

Since I can't say it enough, I'm moving at the end of the months.
Boxes are smilling at me at the corner of each room.

Now; must link to my red soulmate.
I finally found someone loving red as much as I do!
Made me remember, my kitchen wall, at our new appartment, is which color?

Red!

What a bonus! Not even needing to put the extra effort of painting the 3 coats of red! Awesome! Faboulus!

I've shown this one last month; I'm still in love with it...
The kitchen will be really small, like, four bottom panels and 4 above panels. Easy and quick enough to make over...
Now, I'm asking myself if switching the color might work...
red wall with sage cabinet?
I browse google and found none...
But; here's some green cabinets:
(there's was really few meeting my taste...)

I love that they are two tones; I love the glass shelves on the windows, and I love the dark wood island/table. such a nice warm touch!

Love the open shelf (but I don't have enough to play with...)

But like on the first inspiration pic, I'd keep the above cabinet white.

And something I'll desesperatly try to incorporate; Plate rack.

The place above my sinc (the only place I could put some or so...) Is on a window. But I love the look of see-throught shelves. This is way to modern for me thought.

Something like this

or that

would be mostly likely to fit me; those two are sold something like 80£ each...

which made me google "how to build a plate rack" :

okay, far beyond my craft skills....

Ah, I might find something that works whitout having to built it or pay too much for it...

I had never thought of putting it to an island (as I previously said; those are not traditional in Québec) And I'll need a island in that kitchen.

And changing subject (and room) Guess what I will try to cover our entryway/mudroom floor with?

And since our appart get it's access from the inside (got you, winter!) with an independant staircase, I urge to do something like this:

Can't wait to move!

I can always dream!

I came across this post.

It was instant love.

So now I'm browsing the web for more red cabinets.

First time I see this kitchen, but it seems famous....Those are a tad too modern for me, but I like the see-through shelving. The color of the counter top is not my taste, too.

Erm... I'd like to see another scheme then black counter top with cream wall please?

We've got a winner! Bonus for the shaker (There's not of that in the north, but i love them) The green on the wall is lovely as well.

Someday..... I won't have a white-wall-white-melamine-counter-top-white-cabinets-kitchen anymore!

So Tired! ( the quilt inspiration)

yet I'm still browsing blogs.

..eh!

My little lady is teething, 3 teeth at a time. She'll soon have 12 of them.

I'm going to do her blanket for her bed. IT's an old quilt with lots of colors. However some of them just don't fit So I'll hide them with custom made flowers (and some I stoled from another old quilt...) I dunno what It will end up looking... I just hope It trns out awesome.. and that it does not look cheap.

Having the money, I would so buy one of those:

the color theme on this one is what I'm looking for, but still too much white...
I think it's one of the fiew I found with purple in it.

this last one is from a shop on etsy,

HudsonQuilts

I'm sorry I don't remember where I took the other quilts image... I usualy credit that kind of stuff...

Well, I have lots of work to do and my poor Mariann is back to bed so I guess I can make some more flowers now :)
