Some Witchy Items

I took part in a Beltane Swap on craftsters, as most of you know by now >__<
My lovely partner, Kendra descripes herself as a water witch, and getting to know her I learned she mostly wanted kitchen accessories.



SO I made her this little witch to hang around her kitchen. I was inspired by cloth pin doll, but used Styrofoam ball as a head and empty bobbin as a body, complete with white pipe cleaner for limbs.



The coat is made out of felt, and I've embroidered cauldron and pentacle and teardrops. Dress is made out of lace, necklace with coral beads and the face was drawn with sharpies. The hairs are blue wool that I've unraveled.



Then I made her a sign like those sold on etsy. I didn't want to copy an existing design. And I wanted it to be more personal, so I sketched up her and her little boy cooking up something in their cauldron, watched by their 4 cats familiars ;)



I've also tried embroidering a hand towel. Again my design.
I think I didn't chose the right quality of towel for this project...

And....this is becoming classic in the WWP swaps... A wooden spoon!

Again with a water theme. Her favorite animal is a dolphin, of course!



And I made this little guy for her son.



It's filled with chamomile and lavender :)


And lastly I made her a marauder map pouch :)

Another month has passed

I feel really serene and peaceful today. The weather by the window isn't all that sunny, but it doesn't snow or ran, and trees barely moves.

I'm pretty advance on the assignment I gave myself, both my Ostara swap are mostly done, and so is the 4 canvas I agreed to paint in exchange of a whole kit of diaper cloths.

She's making me newborns, medium, large and even 2 potty training ! Those are for a friend of hers, I'll post mine when I get them. 24 of them! O_O Almost all of them will be all-in-one, and some with pads for the nights. They look so fun and comfy! ahah

She's going to open a shop on etsy, I'll post the link when she opens it.

I'm also doing a batch of felt chocolate bunny, and I'll post a tutorial for them on my play food blog.

I've also transformed an old jacket of mine into a pretty long coat for my toddler
and we had a photoshot (she loves that). Here's my little witch in her witchy coat (she like mommy's!)

Papa says she looks like she's floating in it. She loves it and loves the freedom to run around without huge snowsuit constraint.... And to make mommy exercise a bit!

The Crafty Witch: Hocus Pokus Spellbook

I was the one organizing the Halloween swap on the hair forum this year; and Here's one of the things I made for my swappie:

So, my big project (and fav) A Cooking Spellbook, inspired by Hocus Pokus :)

Filled with magical recipe; True Blood, Waffles Wands, Edward's Kiss, Butterbeer....

How I made the Spellbook;
-Reused a cereal box.
-Made a white ball out of modeling clay, stuck a teddy bear eye on it (I cruelly destroy plush to reuse their eyes and their filling...)
-Shaped a first layer of eyelid with red modeling clay, the next with newspaper+modpodge
-Newspaper for the other relief too; paint it all in brilliant red, played with paint after; brown, lighter shades of red, black, etc... With different dry brush techniques
-Sewn along the relief I made
-Had the "silver" details.
-Modpodged scrapbook paper inside the book (so you couldn't see the big roster anymore, ahah) and hide the sewing
-attached rubans, which holds the page. I was going to hand bound it but I figure it would take 3 eternity....

The Crafty Witch: Portable altar

Yet again, it's another gift I made for a swappie.


There's many reason to make a travel altar. Obvious would be that you travel often... You can also have really little space, or a need to hide it.

Here's what I used, and why:
Keep in mind that this altar is specifically more water centered.

Tiny glass of water, with a blue blister pearl, to represent water.
Tiny glass of salt, with green corals, to represent earth.
A tea light with a match; for fire
A incense cone with a incense burner, and a tiny butterfly for air.
A tiny pentagram charm, as a pentacle
A tiny bell,
A tiny hand bound Grimoire (or BoS)
A moon charm, a sea shell and a lapis lazuli charm, to reinforce water,
An mini athamé, made with a straight needle and some beads.

A denim "altar" cloth with a ruban running on the surrounding. When you pull it, it makes a pouch.

The Crafty Witch: Mère Nature

This is something I made for a swap, my partner being this lovely lady. I made her some nicknacs for Yule, and with her love for puppets, made her a little Mère Nature :)

The pattern can be found here, it's totally free, and for this since I've shrinked it to ¼.



And made her several outfits and some nice little boots too :)

I've stitched it all by hand and She measures around 7 inches. The face features are embroidery.

You'll enjoy making one, but I warn you; it's somewhat addictive!
