Oh, Hormones!

Yes, I'm talking about pregnancy hormones. I guess I don't need to say much about those who turns you into retardable crying-bomb, you must have heard of this one even if you've never been pregnant... Of course, I'm full of it over the head, and I have (need?) my crisis at least once a day.... But I could have skipped the too-much-of-relaxin-making thing.

Relaxin is what makes your ligament loosen so your hips, uterus and symphisis get loose enough for a baby to pass through. Apparently, I'm making too much, which cause all my hip area's bones to "travel" around and never stay in place, which lead to inflammation.. and that from the very beginning of my pregnancy (maybe a month along or so...) And since I can't take anti-inflammatory while pregnant... it got worse. And worse, and even worse... Till now, At my 8th month, where it's to the point of retarding to go to bed because it hurts so much, to helplessly shed tears everytime I get up to pee at night (which is every hour or so) and yell of pain if the boyfriend toss and turn too much in bed.... NOT great times.

Combined with sore feet, I can't stay up too much and picking things off the floor is now much more than a boring task. I don't know if I translate the expression well, but in French we have an expression that goes like "My task apears like a mountain". Well, the pile of clean laundry to fold is litteraly a mountain, and so are the dishes on the counter top.
And how about all those toys and dirty socks on the floor? well. They stay exactly where they are. I'm not even able to swep them with my feet! Illegal mouvement: my symphisis makes that horrible "clok" sound anytime I do another move than walking.

So I'm avoiding the place. We've gladly spent the weekend eslewhere now that my BF's summer class is over. And I'm still away. And I forgot my usb cable for my camera. So no pictures of the awesome birthday cake I made for my daughter, none of her wiping her new doll's ass or running around with her diaper bag, none of her trying to ride her brand new red tricycle (which she calls "moto") and none of her not wanting to blow her cake's candle... those will have to wait till later this week... And don't you worry, you'll get tons! The waldorf companion doll was a hit. Even one of my cousin didn't believe I did it.

Mariann, 1 month old

Oh, a month (or so) to go! I'm so grateful I've got some help! My mom is wonderful and takes care of the baby every time I go... I got to sleep until noon this morning! With only 2 trips to the bathroom! And the BF's mood is SO much more enjoyable now that he works with his father in the fields. And he does pick things off the floor when we get home (if only he could fold some laundry too... One day he will!)

I can't wait to show you the cake I made.... it was totally unplaned but came out great! And Mariann loved her little party, she was really happy and felt asleep in our hands while we changed her for the night. She'll turn 2 on Wenesday. Where did that time go??

  1. Awww it sounds like you are ready to be done with the pregnancy! Thats alot like how my last one was. This one isn't so bad physically, but they have put me on "light bedrest" because I have been having major contractions--since 26 weeks (and I'm at 31 now!), which is just as bad. While pain-wise I am ABLE to do the housework, I am just not supposed to... My boyfriend is like yours too, lol he helps SOMETIMES ;) I hope things get easier for you! And a month isn't as long as it seems :)

  2. So sorry to hear you are in so much pain when you lay down. I hope this clears up after the baby is born. I'm happy to hear you got away though, and that your Mom is taking good care of you and her granddaughter!

Can't wait to see the pictures of the cake!

  4. Aww I'm so sorry you are in so much pain. It hasn't been an easy pregnancy has it? Just remember, 35 days to go and it will be well worth it all in the end. Hopefully you will be able to rest a bit more now that summer classes are over. HUGS!

  5. I'm 4 months and 1 week along in my first pregnancy, and the biggest problem I'm having are my hormones. I've been lucky in every other front so far, but you hit the nail on the head when you said you had to have your "daily crisis." ME TOO. I don't WANT to get upset every day, but I find something and just can't help it. I can't wait until I feel like a stable person again (did I ever?)!

By the way, love your blog!
