But I got pregnant... not more high waist rockabilly stuff for me!!
As I was getting my clean laundry in my closet yesterday, that very skirt some how called for me, all useless on its hanger...
And since I don't think I'll be comfortable wearing an high waist anything before long... I chopped the top part, just below the zipper.
Took out an old black tee, an XL from my mom, cut about 4" off the bottom to keep the finish, measure the band below my belly tightly. (I HATE over belly pregnancy stuff, I feel so bad and claustrophobic in those!!)
I've sewn the 2 ends of the band together, and pinned the unfinished side over my right-facing skirt.
Straight stitched it, and zig-zag stitched because I'm too cheap to have a serger...
There you go!!
27 weeks!
But then I was left with a great piece of that lovely fabric.... What to do??
A toddler skirt of course!!
It was a tad too large, and by cutting the zipper and sewing the thing back together it was the right size.
I've run a straight stitch through the inside finish and passed an elastic, I've finish the bottom with a red zig-zag :)
Apologizes for the baby not really wanting to be photographed!
I love it. You did a great job. And your little one looks so dang cute!
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is awesome. I love that you used the remnant to make a matching skirt for Marianne. You and your baby rock, lady. :)
ReplyDeleteLove both of them! Rock on girl!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could saw ;-( I know, I need to stop wishing and start learning. I promise I will... one of these days.
ReplyDeleteYou did an awesome job! To quote K. Michele "Rock on girl!!"
