They can't be mistaken, the signification is so strong and related to magic. You draw a line, than a triangle above; no one can be fooled.
made out of old pants; from me to Abeeroad.
If you want to make one yourself, it's pretty easy:
You can measure the circumference of your head, but I went approximatively (and the head in question was MANY miles away).
that circumference will be the hole in your fabric donut. Now cut about 5" more or less to create that donut, repeat so you have two.
Place them right side facing, and sew along all the outer circumference. Take right side out
Divide the inner circumference by two: this will be the base of your triangles (2 of them, you need). Those triangle can be as high (or low) as you want, but they HAVE to be pointy! hehe.
Right side facing, stitch two side, turn it right side out.
Attach both piece together, so that the stitch will be inside the hat.
If you have a serger, you could have serge the two piece previous to that.
But I don't.
So I took my aligator scisor and trimmed the base off :)

love this thanks so much!! I love witch's hats too
ReplyDeleteThat's precious! I think I will have to make one for my daughter as she loves witch hats too. :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic... Thank you for the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautifully simple and clear tutorial. I like the fact that you do the pointy part in two pieces rather than rolling it into a cone. (Which is much harder to get the measurements right!)
ReplyDeleteAnd "alligator scissors" is my new favourite phrase. The English "pinking shears" is more old-fashioned but much less descriptive!
